The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office says a man has been indicted by a federal grand jury in Wichita after he tried to smuggle 19 pounds of meth into Wichita.

It happened around 1:21 a.m. November 15, on west Kellogg near 119th Street.  A deputy stopped a 2012 Volkswagen Jetta, driven by 38-year-old Jesus Idubi Alcala-Rodriguez, for a traffic violation.

Deputies then found the methamphetamine.  Alcala-Rodriguez was booked into the Sedgwick County Jail and he is currently being held by ICE due to illegally entering into the United States.
