The Cowley County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal shooting that happened late Sunday.
Emergency crews were called to the town of Cambridge around 11 p.m. and they found 38-year-old Jacob Nettrouer with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was dead at the scene.
The shooting was reported in the 17,600 block of 271st Road. Deputies were working with a bondsman who was at the scene to take Nettrouer back to jail for a bond revocation. When deputies heard gunfire they went into a home and attempted life-saving measures.
The sheriff’s office said this was not an officer-involved shooting and it was not an attempted arrest by law enforcement.
