An unidentified man was found dead near a south Wichita park Friday afternoon when crews were called to a report of a submersion.
The submersion was reported shortly after 2 p.m at Garvey Park at 3501 South Washington. Two people were walking in the area when they saw the body on a sandbar in the Arkansas River.
Police said the man’s death does not appear to be foul play. Investigators are working to determine how long the body had been there.
