Out of state hunters won’t be able to get turkey permits in Kansas

The Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism has announced that they will not be issuing hunting permits to out-of-state residents who want to come to Kansas for the spring turkey hunting season.

The season begins on April 15.  The change is to help prevent the potential spread of Covid-19.

The department says there hadn’t been much interest from out-of-state hunters and outfitters, but as other states started imposing restrictions, the department started seeing a demand  in numbers they were not comfortable with, which prompted the suspension of sales.  They say a small number of out-of-state hunters who have already purchased their permit, but they are offering them refunds and gift cards.

Nonresident hunters may obtain a refund or KDWPT gift card by sending an email request to kdwp.sales@ks.gov.
