Advance voting underway for August primary election

Advance voting has started at the Sedgwick County election office for the August 4th primary election.

The election office is open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and it will also be open on Saturday, August 1st from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.  The last chance to vote in advance at the election office will be Monday, August 3rd from 8 a.m. to noon.

There will be 16 satellite voting locations that will be open ahead of the primary.  They will be open Thursday, July 30th and Friday, July 31st from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.  On Saturday, August 1st they will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Voters have Democratic and Republican primary races for the U.S. Senate seat now held by Pat Roberts, who is retiring.   There are also Democratic and Republican primary contests for the district 2 and 3 seats on the Sedgwick County commission, and a Republican primary for county treasurer will also be on the ballot.   There will also be some Kansas legislative primaries, along with some judicial races.  There are also a few races for city and township offices and precinct committee posts.
