There have been multiple reports of a natural gas smell in parts of west and southwest Wichita this morning.
The smell has led to a few schools thinking there was a leak, and evacuating students as a precaution.
No leak has been found anywhere and equipment has not detected any natural gas in the air.
Wichita has seen similar situations in the past, where the odorant put into natural gas had leaked from a tank, but there was no actual gas leak found. It’s not clear yet that’s the case this morning or not.
