A Wichita man is facing federal charges following his arrest in connection to the January 6th Capitol riots in Washington, D.C.
37 year old Michael Eckerman is charged with assaulting, resisting or impeding an officer, obstruction of official an official proceeding, and disorderly conduct in a capitol building. Eckerman is also facing 8 federal charges according to a criminal complaint.
An affidavit provided further detail on the case against Eckerman, and was backed by photo and video evidence in addition to witness accounts.
A Special Agent with the FBI reported that an anonymous tipster provided an image of Eckerman inside the Capitol, adding that Eckerman had sent photos to friends from Washington D.C. on January 6th.
