A popular restaurant in north Wichita has closed its doors after almost 40 years in business.
DeFazio’s has served Italian food at its location at 2706 North Amidon, but president Pete DeFazio announced on social media Wednesday that he has decided to retire. He cited issues with staffing and declining health that have affected his ability to work.
DeFazio started the restaurant with his wife in 1982. He said the closing was the hardest decision he has had to make, and he expressed thanks to his customers and employees over the years, and the generations of families who have visited the restaurant.
