A patrol officer with the North Newton Police Department died Tuesday morning due to complications from COVID-19.
46-year old Brian Rousseau joined the North Newton Police Department in 2018. Prior to joining North Newton, he served a nearly 18-year tenure with the Newton Police Department.
Rousseau also formerly served more than a decade on the Harvey County Emergency Response Team, including six years as a team leader.
Rousseau was a Marion County resident and he leaves behind his wife and two children.
Funeral arrangements are pending.
