Patch work begins on K-96 in northeast Wichita

Crews have started patching work on K-96 between Webb Road and the junction with East Kellogg.   The work in northeast Wichita will be done Sundays through Friday mornings.

Work began Sunday on the eastbound lanes.  There will be lanes and ramps that will be closed each evening for pavement patching work.   The work begins after noon on Sundays and at 7 p.m. the rest of the week.   The lanes and ramps will reopen by 6 a.m. each day.

At some point, there will be a one-week closure of the eastbound Kellogg exit to westbound K-96.  There’s no word yet on when that closing will take place.

The $2.7 million project should be completed by late fall.   Drivers are urged to be prepared for slow-moving traffic and use extra caution through the work zones.
