A man who is wanted in a Wichita murder case has been arrested at the Mexico border near El Paso, Texas.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection said the man was seen Monday evening walking along the border barrier, and a border patrol agent asked him about his citizenship. The man said he was a U.S. citizen and he had just entered the country illegally by trying to drive his truck across the Rio Grande River. The man was arrested and an investigation found that he had an extensive criminal history, and there is a warrant for him out of Wichita.
The man is in the custody of the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office and he is awaiting extradition to Wichita. His name has not been released.
