Four Salina South High School students were arrested after a shooting threat that was made on Thursday.

Authorities claim a student made a statement to three other boys about shooting up the school. Witnesses alleged the four boys were seen putting their hands together.

The statement and the gesture were witnessed by a fellow student, who reported it. School resource officers and school officials later reviewed the video from the cafeteria and identified the four boys, who range in age from 15-17.

The students were arrested on the level 5 felony of aggravated criminal threat and booked into juvenile detention.

Salina Police said they’ve investigated roughly 14 criminal threats against the city’s middle and high schools.
