Wichita Police are investigating after a shot was fired inside an Ascension Via Christi facility.
Around 7:10 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 7th, officers responded to a vandalism report at 929 N. St. Francis. There they learned a single gunshot had been fired from inside the secured pediatric unit.
Investigators learned that a child was brought to the hospital by a female caretaker. While in the pediatric unit the mother arrived. While the mother was out of the room, the caretaker and two other females remained in the room. A gunshot was heard and then the females exited the hospital.
No one was injured and the investigation is ongoing.
