My next favorite #Derbyweek recipe isn’t for a snack, but a beverage: the Oaks Lily.

If ya don’t know, the Kentucky Oaks is a fillies race (girls) and Oaks Day embraces pink in all it’s glory, from the pink number flags the fillies wear to race to the Stargazer Lilies

(instead of the red roses for Derby Day), to the Survivors Parade that celebrates breast and ovarian cancer survivors https://www.kentuckyderby.com/visit/derby-week/oaks/survivors-parade .

Everyone knows that the Official Drink of the Kentucky Derby is the Mint Julep (more on that later). But the OAKS drink is the perfectly pink Lily.

There is THE OFFICIAL recipe that you get at the track, and it’s super easy to make, that you can find here:

Truth be told – I get at least one 😉 every time I’m at the track.

But me, personally, when I make them at home, I make the ORIGINAL version my friend Tim Laird taught me how to make, for one reason: it’s delicious with vodka, and it’s delicious WITHOUT.

I make a big pitcher of it without the vodka and just keep it in the fridge in the summer because it’s so refreshing, and it’s perfect for those who don’t drink, or for the kiddos! HIGHLY recommend 😊

Click here for Tim’s Instagram for the recipe: https://www.instagram.com/p/CryQVxKuAHy/

(the only thing I change to make it virgin is I swap out the TripleSec for orange juice and don’t add the vodka! DELICIOUS!!)
