Sedgwick County deputies have arrested a 21-year-old Haysville man in connection with a fatal shooting west of Derby.
Deputies were called to the 3000 block of East 79th Street South around 12:30 a.m. on May 21st. They found 20-year-old Armando Garcia of Wichita with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. He died later at a hospital.
Deputies contacted a Haysville man and booked him into jail for involuntary manslaughter. Detectives believe that alcohol may have been a contributing factor in the shooting. Information will be presented to the District Attorney’s Office for the filing of charges.
