The City of Wichita has created a dashboard where residents can go online and follow the progress of recommendations to improve the policies and practices of the Wichita Police Department.

The Chicago firm of Jensen Hughes completed a study of the department earlier this year and a 123-page report was released in March with recommendations in a variety of areas.

Police lieutenant Aaron Moses revealed the dashboard during a news conference Tuesday.  He said police chief Joe Sullivan is eager to implement the recommendations, and people can check the dashboard at any time.   Moses said out of the 54 recommendations, 17 have been implemented and 21 are in the process of being implemented.  The remaining 16 recommendations are under review.

The dashboard is broken down into sections to copy the report submitted by Jensen Hughes.   The sections include operations, promotions, code of conduct, organizational culture, internal investigations and discipline, the Citizens Review Board, and human resources and Law Department communication.

The dashboard is available through the city’s web page at wichita.gov
