New charges have been filed against a Wichita man who is already facing first degree murder charges for the death of his 8-year-old daughter.

Police arrested 51-year-old Thomas Gatewood in connection with the May 8th death of his daughter in the 600 block of North Oliver.   Gatewood was arrested on June 27th after a homicide case was presented to the District Attorney’s Office.   He has also been charged with abuse of a child, aggravated kidnapping and aggravated intimidation of a witness or victim.

The new charges are rape, two counts of aggravated criminal sodomy and aggravated indecent liberties with a child.  Bond on the new charges was set at $250,000 and the next court date was scheduled for July 12th.

Court records have shown that Gatewood has a history of domestic violence, battery and sexual battery cases.
