Changes have been made with the parking lot at Wichita’s City Hall.  Starting Monday, the public parking lot is using unmanned, automated ticket booths.

Parking is managed by the firm of Car Park, and it will have staff on hand this week to help visitors with the changes.  The new system is designed to streamline services and update the parking infrastructure at City Hall.

When visitors approach the automated entry gate, they will push a button to receive a ticket, which will have a barcode.  When visitors are ready to leave, they will scan the barcode at the station outside the entry-exit doors or at the exit booths.

Visitors who want to pay cash can do so at the “Pay on Foot” station outside the City Hall entrance.   They will then have 15 minutes to get to their car and exit the lot.

Parking validation received from city staff will now be a sticker with a QR code to scan or exit the lot.

Here is the schedule of parking fees:

  • 30 minutes and under is free
  • $1 for an hour
  • $2 for 1.5 hours
  • $3 for 2 hours
  • $4 for 2.5 hours
  • $5 for 3 hours
  • $6 for the whole day
