The Kansas Bureau of Investigation said a man was shot by police officers early Monday during a confrontation in Kansas City, Kansas, and he was arrested after being treated at a hospital.
The KBI said police were called to an apartment complex near 61st Street and Leavenworth Road around 3 a.m. on a report of someone firing shots in the parking lot. Officers saw a man with a rifle leaning out of a second floor window. The man pointed a rifle at an officer and another officer fired a shot, striking the man in the shoulder.
The 21-year-old man was taken to a hospital, and he was released later in the day. He was then booked into jail for aggravated assault of a law enforcement officer. The KBI is investigating.
