There were no injuries when a small plane had to make an emergency landing in Harvey County.
Newton Fire/EMS said the pilot had engine failure early Thursday afternoon and landed in a field about three miles south of the Newton City/County Airport. The plane had taken off from Eisenhower Airport on a flight to Newton.
The pilot, a 71-year-old Wichita man, said he was okay and the aircraft appeared to be undamaged.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
