A south Wichita bar has lost its appeal to the city council to keep its entertainment license.
The city council voted Tuesday to uphold a decision by police chief Gordon Ramsay to deny a license renewal for Vixen’s Erotic Sports Bar at 212 West Harry.
Council members heard arguments and then went into a closed-door meeting to discuss the appeal. Mayor Jeff Longwell said the bar had violated several provisions of the city code, including instances in August where dancers exposed themselves.
Vixen’s can still operate as a bar but it will not be allowed to have dancing, live music, a disc-jockey or other forms of live entertainment.
