Storm Creek Horse Co. in Pretty Prairie is suffering a hay shortage and needs a helping hand.
Owner Lisa Loyd says her farm and rescue has tried all they can to keep enough hay for their 39 horses. She says Kansas hay farmers are experiencing low volume due to weather, so the price for a bale has tripled. Her farm uses 28-30 round bales a month.
They’ve driven to Oklahoma and Kansas City to obtain hay for their horse rescue.
Loyd says people can help their farm and rescue by donating money, visiting the farm, or donating hay.
