A structure fire in Hutchinson left 6 people displaced early Wednesday morning.
The Hutchinson Fire Department responded to the 600 block of E. Ave C. Street around 4:15 a.m. and found a detached garage fully engulfed in flame.
Two neighboring houses were also evacuated, as extreme radiant heat caused the fire to spread, but no one was injured. The fire was brought under control within a half an hour.
However, 6 adults were displaced as a result of the fires, and they are now being assisted by the American Red Cross.
Investigators determined that the cause of the fire was an improperly installed wood-burning stove in the detached garage.
