Garden City Police are investigating after a gun was found in a Garden City High School student’s car.
Authorities were notified about the incident through a social media post.
Police said the gun was in the possession of a 17-year-old, which was later found in their vehicle. It was not loaded.
It was determined that there was no threat to the students or to the school. Police said that disciplinary action had been taken for the teen.
The Garden City Police Department and Garden City school district (USD 457) are reminding parents as well as residents to immediately report any incidents related to school safety to administrators, staff, or the police.
