Fire crews found a person dead inside a home in Winfield this morning.
A fire was reported at a home around 8:20 a.m., in the 100 block of North Minnesota. First responders someone may be in the home, and they worked to get the fire under control. Once crews were able to get inside the home, they did find one person deceased inside. This person’s name has not been made public yet.
Local fire officials and the state Fire Marshal’s Office are working to find how the fire started. No details on a cause have been released yet.
A statement from the Winfield police and fire departments says more information will be released later on.
