A woman and her two children were taken to a hospital with critical injuries after a crash in southwest Sedgwick County. One of the children was later pronounced dead.
The crash was reported around 5:15 p.m. Sunday at 199th Street West and MacArthur. A deputy got to the scene and pulled a 33-year-old woman and her two children, a two-year-old boy and a four-year-old girl, out of their burning vehicle. They were taken to a Wichita hospital, where the girl later died.
The woman was identified as Britne Costello of Douglas. She and her two-year-old son were in serious condition.
The roadway was closed for several hours after the crash.
