Wichita Police Investigating Crash that Killed Goddard Man

A Goddard man was killed in a crash in the 6200 block of W. Taft.

The incident happened around 9:20 p.m. Thursday. The victim, identified as 55-year-old Jerry Parks, was reportedly riding a bicycle when he collided with a Ford Mustang being driven by a 32-year-old woman.

EMS and Wichita Fire transported Parks to a local hospital with critical injuries, but was later pronounced dead by medical staff.

Investigators said Parks entered W. Taft from the from a shrubbery line towards the south when he collided with the Mustang. The driver said she was unable to stop in time.

Police said they do not believe speed nor impairment were factors. Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact detectives at 316-350-3687.
