Flooding in the area due to heavy rains Wednesday caused traffic snarls, stalled vehicles, and accidents due to hydroplaning.
More than 15 vehicles in the area of Pawnee and West Street were stuck while trying to drive through high water.
Wichita received just over four inches which broke the previous record of 1.63 inches in 2000. Other parts of the state saw anywhere from 6 inches to over 9 inches in Ottawa County in the Northeastern part of the state.
