A Wichita man has been sentenced to almost 9 years in prison for a fatal hit-and-run incident on the city’s west side.
A Sedgwick County district judge sentenced 32-year-old Latrell Thompson to 109 months after a guilty plea to leaving the scene of an accident and cultivation of marijuana. He was also ordered to pay restitution of $52,000 to the insurance company and close to $10,000 for funeral costs for the victim.
Police said the victim, 49-year-old Kurt Krueger, was struck and killed by a vehicle in May, 2022 while walking in the 79-hundred-block of West Cottontail.
