WINE ON THE RIVER, an iHeartMedia Louisville event, will bring wine enthusiasts together with more than 25 vineyards, distributors and wineries Saturday, October 17 on the Big Four Lawn at Waterfront Park. WINE ON THE RIVER balances fun, exploration and education by providing attendees a passport to keep track of their favorite red, white or bubbly in a festive environment while supporting Dare to Care Food Bank. WINE ON THE RIVER will present wineries stretching from Southern Indiana (Huber Winery) to Napa Valley (J Lohr Winery) as well as brands from overseas, including Arabella, hailing from South Africa, and the Italian Alps’ Mezzacorona. LIVE music will entertain the crowd while guests snack on mouthwatering nibbles as several local restaurants and vendors provide appetizing fare. On the menu is everything from tantalizing sliders, smoking BBQ, grilled cheese and many sweet treats. In between sips, attendees will have an opportunity to shop at the dozens of artisan boutiques and vendors on site. The public wine tasting event has unlimited sampling, as well as crackers, coffee and water to keep guests hydrated. Proceeds from WINE ON THE RIVER will support Dare to Care’s programs to feed the hungry and conquer the cycle of need. WINE ON THE RIVER is presented by Waste Management and Sam Swope BMW along with media partners WAVE 3 News, LEO Weekly and Louisville Magazine.
